As a lifelong Capital Region sports fan who has just so happened to be in radio for most of my professional life the chance to “join the Team” pun intended was the kind of offer I’ve been dreaming of. Growing up a Yankees, Knicks and Raiders fan(a punishment I share with my beautiful daughter Ella) I’ve felt the pain and success that comes with diehard fandom. Luckily for me my friends that love the Giants have adopted me so I have a reason to watch football after the Raiders have been eliminated EARLY every season for the last 10 plus years. I’m excited to talk sports and enjoy multiple happy hours with all the sports fans of the Cap Region…even the Red Sox fans.

John Cusak Joins The Bills Mafia
The Buffalo Bills are the toast of the town after winning their first playoff game since 1995. We all know that guys like ESPN's Chris Berman loves the Bills and Christopher McDonald AKA "Shooter McGavin" is a pretty well-known member of the Bills Mafia but the Twitter world got rejoiced when the newest celebrity made his Mafia status known. 80's ROMCOM superstar John Cusak has now publicly proclaimed his membership to the Bills Mafia.
As the Buffalo Bills Head to Playoffs 6 States Join The Mafia…The Bills Mafia
Buffalo Bills fans have been through things that no other fan base has. Losing four straight Super Bowls and sharing a division with the Patriots dynasty will take a toll on you. People seem to erase from their minds how impossible making four straight Super Bowls is and just how good the Bills really were in the '90s. People taunting you with "Wide Right" chants will either break you or make you "Circle the Wagons". Anyone that's been to a tailgate at "The Ralph" (I will never call it anything else) or heard a group of red, white, and blue-clad fans scream "THE BILLS MAKE ME WANNA SHOUT" at McGeary's or Henry's knows the Bills Mafia will never be fully broken. They have an attitude of "you're either with us or you're against us" and this Bills' team has people joining the Mafia by the state load.
Petition To Ban Gov. Cuomo From Bills Playoff Gains Momentum
The Buffalo Bills will have the ability to host 6,772 fans this Saturday when they begin their playoff run against the Indianapolis Colts. This would be the first sporting event in New York to allow fans since the COVID-19 pandemic halted the sports world in mid-March of 2020. It's a happy day for the Bills Mafia except for the nearly 18,000 fans that have signed a petition in an attempt to keep the man that made the decision to open the stands up, Governor Andrew Cuomo out of the game.
Could Eli Manning Return To The Giants?
The New York Giants are currently in first place in the NFC East but reports are they're about to lose starting quarterback Daniel Jones for "some time" for what our friend Jordan Ranaan hears is a "Pretty bad" hamstring injury. How confident are you in the Giants offense's ability to move the ball with Colt McCoy under center? They don't even have a third-string QB listed on their depth chart. Should Big Blue pick up the phone and call Eli Manning to see if he'd be interested in returning?

Levack Hates These Three QBs But He Can’t Bet Against Them
Desperate times call for desperate measures! I thought I pulled out all the stops last week and still posted another 1 - 2 week in my Locks(which I'm clearly not using that word correctly at the moment). So this week it's all about the quarterback position. After all the NFL is a QB league! So after all my research and digging, I found myself looking at the field generals in three games. Now I know the way back to the winner's circle.
COVID-19 Leaves Capital Region Seniors Struggling To Get Recruited
The transition from High School to college sports is never easy. In a normal year, only about 7% of kids who played football in high school end up playing in college. As we all know 2020 is anything but normal. So what happens in a year where the COVID-19 pandemic has shut down many high school athletic programs? How do you get the attention of coaches and recruiters? This is a real problem for many high school athletes right here in the Capital Region.
The Albany Empire Are Back!
THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK or at least they will. The long awaited name announcement of the new team that will play football inside the Times Union Center in downtown Albany is here and it's The Albany Empire.
NYS Fitness Alliance Take Action To Open Safely When Permitted
The gyms of New York State were originally led to believe they would be able to open at some capacity during Phase 4 of Governor Andrew Cuomo's reopening plan. However when we reached Phase 4 on July 1st, 2020 the plan had changed. So now a group of gym and fitness center owners from across New York have teamed up to form the NYS Fitness Alliance in an attempt to set guidelines and protocols for gyms and fitness
centers to safely resume business operations. The hope is that once the governor sees the guidelines he'll realize the gyms are prepared and should be allowed to open.
RPI Cancels Fall Sports For 2020 Season
We knew this was a possibility but I don't any of us really looked at this as a reality. RPI has decided to cancel their participation in all athletics and Intramural sports for the Fall season. Football, soccer, and other sports will all be put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
New Rule Allows Carryout Booze During Coronavirus Shutdown
The attempt to "flatten the curve" of COVID-19 has and will have a negative effect on the restaurant industry. As of 8 pm Monday all restaurants, bars, gyms and movie theaters have to close their doors until further notice. In an attempt to help keep restaurants afloat Governor Cuomo will allow carryout beer, wine and liquor.
