This New York Restaurant Accused of Serving Human Finger In Woman’s Salad

One New York restaurant is accused of serving a salad with part of a human finger mixed into the greens.

In April of 2023, according to the New York Daily News, a manager at the Chopt Creative Salad Company in Mount Kisco, NY severed a portion of her finger while chopping arugula. When the injured manager left to seek medical attention pieces of her finger were allegedly mixed with ingredients and served to customers.

CBS News reports that Allison Cozzi of Greenwich, Connecticut has filed a lawsuit against Chopt. Cozzi's suit suggests that she bought a salad at Chopt on April 7, 2023, and realized while eating it that "she was chewing on a portion of a human finger that had been mixed in to, and made a part of, the salad."

Shortly after [the] plaintiff purchased the salad, while she was eating the salad, she realized that she was chewing on a portion of a human finger that had been mixed in, and made a part of, the salad, - the lawsuit states

The Westchester County Health Department records indicate that Chopt was fined $900 for the severed finger incident earlier this year. Since then Cozzi is alleging that she has suffered panic attacks, migraine, cognitive impairment, nausea and other effects from eating the contaminated salad.
