The Powerball jackpot on Saturday November 7th was approximately $149 million dollars and it appears nobody has claimed it! You know what that means? That means this week's estimated Powerball jackpot of $158 million dollars is mine! Right?

Over the years, for some unexplained reason, I have often thought I was the winner of huge sums of money by winning the Powerball jackpot that I had not actually won. It's weird but I get it in my head that I have won even before I have purchased a ticket!

I know that real people have won before so why not me? In September the $94.8 million dollar jackpot was won by a ticket purchased at Minogue's Beverage in Ballston Spa, New York. That is close to home so for this week's drawing I suggest simply handing me that huge check now and relieve everyone else of the anxiety that might come with waiting for the drawing.

I can't be the only one that thinks this way. Say a big jackpot is up for grabs, like the $158 million dollar jackpot this week. As word starts to spread I start thinking about buying my $2 ticket. I only need one because I have already won. The ticket is a formality. Where will I purchase mine? I probably won't go to Ballston Spa because someone just won there in September. Or maybe that IS the place to buy my ticket. I'll keep that to myself. Once my winnings have been announced will I take the annual payments or will I take the lump sum of $123.6 million? Either way I will probably use my new fortune to settle any debts. Next I'd probably travel and hire someone like Bob Seger to play at my new house. How much could that cost? $500K? I'd still have a bunch of money for food and clothes right?

I am already feeling the calm and security that winning brings! The only thing that would make me upset is if I won a "runner-up" prize. This past Saturday there were 10 players that won $50K each and 4 players that won $100K each. That must have been so disappointing.
