Massachusetts is getting ready to open smaller indoor concert venues next month, which means a concert road trip could be a part of your spring social agenda.

It was great news recently when Bew York arenas got the recent go-ahead to start having fans again at events, but with only 10% capacity allowed, it is not quite feasible yet to have concerts. But, concerts could be much closer than you think in Massachusetts starting in March.

According to Boston 25 News, the state of Massachusetts has announced that starting March 1st "Indoor performance venues such as concert halls, theaters, and other indoor performance spaces (Open at 50% capacity with 500 person max)" can reopen. So what does this mean for you? Some concerts in Massachusetts should be happening in the near future. Things may take a while to ramp up as venues get ready to open again, but you have to assume there is going to be a show somewhere soon. If I was a betting man, I would say something happening in Boston is a real possibility.

With so many Boston venues that fit the profile that could do a 500 person show under the announced guidelines, there is a great chance you could be taking a little road trip to Beantown in the coming months for a concert. Fingers crossed that turns out to be the case!

Also announced today as part of the Massachusetts venue reopening plan was guidance for larger venues. Boston 25 News says starting March 22nd venues with a capacity of 5,000 or more can start operating at 12% capacity. So while this may not mean concerts at larger arenas and stadiums right away, it does mean fans can get back to sporting events in Boston next month.
