Massive Ozone Advisory For This New York State Area
There is an alert from New York State this week and those with breathing issues should be ready.
The heat is going to be here for a few days to start the week and some schools are already moving to a half day to keep kids from overheating at schools.
For those who are at risk, there is an Ozone Alert.
From Buffalo, to Albany, the heat will be excessive and the humidity will make it feel like it is well over 100 degrees this week.
According to New York Health Officials, "New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Amanda Lefton and State Department of Health (DOH) Commissioner Dr. James McDonald issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for Monday, June 23, 2025, for ozone for the Long Island and New York City Metro regions".
This has been a strong start to the summer. This past weekend, there were reports of a fatal tornado that ripped through a portion of New York State.
