Parents In New York State Warned About Popular Game

If you have young kids at home who love to play online games like Roblox, how much do you know about the game, and who is playing with your kids? A lawsuit against the popular game has caught the attention of parents across New York State.

These online games become a huge addiction for kids across the country. For many of the kids who play, this is their way of interacting with their friends after school or throughout the summer. Some kids spend hours a day playing online!  But as we get ready to head back to school, this might be the best time to review the policies of the games your kids play, or sit with your kids and get to know who they are playing with.

Parents In New York State Warned About Popular Game

The lawsuit is aimed at protecting kids who play Roblox from online predators who can play the game posing as a child.

"Has and continues to facilitate the distribution of child sexual abuse material and the sexual exploitation of Louisiana’s children. Knowingly and intentionally fails to implement basic safety controls to protect child users from predators. Knowingly and intentionally fails to provide notice to parents and child users of its dangers".

While New York State is not currently part of this lawsuit, it is worth paying attention to, especially if you have kids who are playing day after day.

The school year will begin soon, and we have already started to get our four kids ready for the routine and are limiting the time they spend on screens and online games.
