With inflation pushing prices up, even the basics are starting to feel a little…extra.

The biggest price jumps? Poultry, pork, and fish.

And in New York, where the cost of living just keeps climbing, that exclusivity is all the more noticeable.

We are talking about Whole Foods Market.

Yes, the place that serves up organic everything and can make even a simple carton of eggs feel like a luxury item.

In fact, a 2022 survey from Checkbook.org found that Whole Foods remains the most expensive choice among local chains and stores.

Their overall prices were about 23 percent higher than the average at other stores surveyed and roughly Nineteen percent higher than at top-rated Wegmans.
