Buffalo Bills' owners Terry and Kim Pegula have been seeking investors to buy stakes in the team. Many parties have emerged with interest in buying into the team's ownership, and another party was recently added to that list.

If you're a sports fan, then you'll probably recognize the names of these potential investors.

As reported by Sportico and other outlets, three legendary athletes --- former NBA stars Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady, and former U.S. Soccer star Jozy Altidore --- are in talks to buy minority stakes in the Buffalo Bills.

All three athletes are American, but played in Toronto during their careers. Carter and McGrady played with the Raptors of the NBA, and Altidore played with Toronto FC of the MLS.

This news comes on the heels of prior reports that the Pegula family was seeking investors to buy a non-controlling stake in the Buffalo Bills. As stated by Sportico, the goal was to offload roughly 25% of the franchise to another party.

If successful, the Pegula family would maintain controlling interest of the franchise, while also having the financial backing of another party to help operate the team.

The Pegula family has an impressive sports portfolio in Western/Upstate New York. In addition to the Bills, they own the NHL's Buffalo Sabres, NLL's Buffalo Bandits and Rochester Knighthawks, and AHL's Rochester Americans.

None of these franchises are reported to be involved in negotiations with the trio of former athletes.

Carter, a Hall of Fame guard/forward, played 22 seasons in the NBA, the first seven of which came with the Toronto Raptors. He briefly played with McGrady, his cousin, in Toronto before McGrady left in 2000. He played 15 seasons in the NBA, and is also a member of the Hall of Fame.

Altidore, meanwhile, scored 42 goals for the United States men's national soccer team in 115 caps. He also appeared in 139 games Toronto FC from 2015–2021, scoring 62 goals.
