
Capital Region Snowfall Totals Are In: How Much Did We Get?
Winter has not even officially begun yet, but the colder weather and now snow are both here!
While many in the Capital Region got their first taste of winter with some decent snow on Black Friday, today's winter storm (Tuesday, December 2, 2025) brought the region's first widespread snowfall. Forecasters initially called for about 4 to 8 inches in the greater Albany area. For the most part, this storm delivered in that range, with some areas seeing more than 8 inches.

While this was not an earth-shattering, record-breaking snowfall, it is a promising start to the season for snow lovers after a couple of meh winters for snow accumulation. Could this be a sign of bigger storms and an active weather pattern to come? Only time will tell, but maybe this could be the start of one of our snowier winters over the last few years.
If you are a big fan of snow, this could be our last big snowfall for a bit. Outside of some occasional snow showers, the extended forecast from News Channel 13 looks to feature mostly sun and is free and clear from any sizeable storms for the foreseeable future.
