
Heavily-Armed Kingpin Busted In Major Upstate New York Sting
Local police teamed with the New York State Police to take down an Upstate New York drug lord accused of possessing an arsenal of illegal firearms and tons of cocaine and meth.
The charges against the defendant are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Kingpin Brought Down in East Greenbush
According to Sidewinder Photography, the East Greenbush Police Department and the New York State Police investigated and arrested Reynaldo Gonzalez, 48, of East Greenbush.
Gonzalez faces a litany of felony charges after police confiscated large quantities of illegal firearms, drugs, and other contraband.
What Did Law Enforcement Recover?
According to the report from Sidewinder Photography:
- Eight illegal handguns, two shotguns, and two rifles—one of which was an AR-15.
- Also seized were extended magazines, a bulletproof vest, and various types of ammunition.
- In addition to the weapons, officers confiscated more than 1,000 grams of cocaine, over 150 grams of methamphetamine, multiple pills, and drug packaging materials, along with $985 in cash.
While it's hard to determine the street value of the drugs confiscated, an average gram of cocaine could cost anywhere from $100 to $300 and and average gram of meth is about $30 or $40.
Accordng to Sidewinder, Gonzalez faces 25 felony charges, four misdemeanors, and one violation in connection with the investigation.
