This is an update of a story we published last month regarding an unidentified body of a woman that was found near a historical site in Upstate New York.

Body Found at Historical Site in Upstate New York

State Police in New York say a hiker found the "suspicious" remains of an elderly woman at a historical site in Upstate New York last month.  For weeks, Police hadn't been able to identify the body and have asked the public to step forward if anyone has any information.

According to the New York State Police, they have positively identified the deceased woman as Helen Pardini, age 69, of Poughkeepsie, NY.

State Police say the investigation into her mysterious death is ongoing.

According to the New York State Police, on December 6th, at approximately noon, a hiker found the remains of the woman lying face down near the east shore of the Hudson River south of Bard Rock, at the site of the historical Vanderbilt Mansion - about 65 miles south of Albany.

Police Release Photo of Deceased Woman

While the search continued, a photo surfaced that was believed to be of the woman who was found in the hope that someone might be able to step forward and identify her.

Police Call the Discovery "Suspicious"

New York State Police are actively investigating the "suspicious" death in hopes of learning more about the elderly lady and what led to her suspicious death.

According to the Dutchess County Medical Examiner, the body found was that of a Caucasian female with brown eyes, weighs 112 pounds, is 5 feet 5 inches tall, has gray hair, and no scars, marks, or tattoos.
