A New York man - vehemently opposed to vegans and anything that has to do with the vegan lifestyle,  was arrested on Tuesday after a series of harassing threats he made to organizers of a festival in Upstate New York scheduled for later this month.

The aggressive threats were made in e-mails and audio recordings to one of the festival’s organizers, and according to one report, dated as far back as February, among other things said that his "ideal thing would be to go up to Woodstock to shoot up...the Jewish meet up. That would be ideal.”

Police say the man who made these threats is William Swift, 32, from Brooklyn, and according to a report from the New York Daily News, the FBI made the arrest after tracking his menacing messages to the internet address at his home in East New York.

"Swift is accused of making his threats in e-mails and audio recordings to one of the week-long festival’s organizers, telling her in one chilling message, “The ideal thing would be to go up to Woodstock to shoot up...the Jewish meet up. That would be ideal,” according to court filings." -NY Daily News

Allegedly, the threats he made were to the organizers of the Woodstock Fruit Festival, which bills itself as a lakeside “vegan health retreat” and takes place at Camp Walden from August 21st- August 28th at Diamond Point in the  Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York.

The Daily News reports that Swift's "anti-vegan grudge led him to threaten a mass shooting and stabbing if its organizers didn’t cancel the event or prevent people he hated from attending."

At the time of the report, organizers of the Woodstock Fruit Festival have not commented.
