Sonic the Hedgehog to Return to TV in 2014
The Blue Blur known as Sonic the Hedgehog is set to make his triumphant comeback to television in Fall 2014, with a show tentatively titled 'Sonic Boom.'
An article on Hollywood Reporter reveals that the show will be broadcast on Cartoon Network in the U.S. and Canal J and Gulli in France in Fall 2014. Shortly after that, it will be aired globally.
The show will be CG-animated and will feature characters like the titular Sonic, Miles "Tails" Prower the fox and his arch-nemesis, Dr. Eggman. Judging from the teaser image shown above, the show will also star Amy Rose, the pink hedgehog, and a figure reminiscent of Knuckles the echidna, although this character looks to have a slightly larger build.
Sega of America will work together with Genao Productions to bring us 52 episodes of the Blue Blur's adventures in the new action-comedy. This is the fourth time that we'll see a Sonic series on air, but we'll have to wait until next fall to really celebrate his return.
Sonic's newest game, Sonic: Lost World, is due out on Oct. 29 for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.
