Legal problems and studio red tape have kept both the 'Friday the 13th' and 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' franchises from making new films.

The star of the ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ series says he’s retired from putting on that hideous scarred face and those creepy knife fingers.

As long as there have been horror movies, there have been attempts to mix together horror movie characters in crossover films. Who can forget Freddy vs. Jason, the critically reviled  —  but financially successful  —  2003 film that pitted the stars of the Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street franchises against each other? Not to mention those years where it was rumored that Evil Dead’s Ash might get thrown into the mix for a sequel; no matter how many middling reboots these franchises go through, there will always be someone who pitches a project where Hollywood just slams ’em all up together.

First of all, I would like to explain the image. The site where we get our safe images from does not have a decent Jason image, so I had to settle for this. Anyway. Jason vs Freddy vs Michael Myers vs Leather Face vs (Insert Slasher here.) who wins? Jigsaw does not count.

As a child of the eighties, the name Freddy Krueger still scares the hell out me!  Today, the man who donned the metal claws and invaded our dreams turns 65.  Happy birthday to Robert Englund.
