Much of the New York Mets fanbase along with the media, me not included, are rooting for the Mets to hire former Albany-Colonie Yankee skipper and long time major league manager, Buck Showalter. There are a few other candidates sprinkled in, including Tampa Bay Rays bench coach Matt Quatraro, but Buck is getting the most attention. Showalter should get the most attention but shouldn't get the job.

Tuesday is always a fun night in high school basketball. One thing I learned very early in coaching, kids love taking the bus to other schools. It's fun to play at home in front of your friends and classmates but the bus rides with your teammates was even better. Another thing that I learned, score reporting is sometimes done the following day. So, be patient as we try to get you all of the scores and more game details this season.

On Wednesday night the Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Houston Astros by a score of 7-0. The win gave the Rays their 98th victory of the season, the most in franchise history. Yankee fans may snarl, but there is no denying it is very easy for me to root for the Rays. The person that Tampa Bay manager Kevin Cash depends on the most is a 1992 graduate of Bethlehem High School and subsequent BCHS Hall of Famer, bench coach Matt Quatraro.
