The Farmer’s Almanac has released its 2026-2027 winter forecast, and New York could be facing a complicated season with heavy snow, ice, rain, and rapidly changing conditions.

The Farmers’ Almanac’s Winter 2025–2026 forecast is here, and it’s shaping up to be a wild ride. Expect dramatic temperature swings, early snow in some areas, frequent storms, and deep freezes in January and February.

Good news for those not a fan of snow. The warmer-than-normal weather we've been having this summer will hang around into the fall season.
