As Sick Puppies gear up for the release of their upcoming 'Connect' album, they're finding a lot of love for their music and that includes a very public nod of support from longtime pal and Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix.

Papa Roach are happily back on the road after several stops and starts this year while vocalist Jacoby Shaddix was determining whether vocal surgery would be necessary. The rocker caught up with the Armed Forces Network (check out the audio below) in Germany and spoke with Army Sergeant Russell Toof about his recovery from the vocal surgery and other topics.

Bad news for Papa Roach fans - Jacoby Shaddix has been diagnosed with with a vocal chord issue and will have to undergo surgery to remove the nodule and prevent future damage. There is however a silver lining for fans who will be attending the show - longer set times for the other bands.

Papa Roach are gearing up for a busy summer, as the hard rockers are playing the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival this August and also readying a shiny new album.
