Longtime collaborator Sean Lennon will join Primus frontman on tour.

Happy Birthday today (Sept. 29) to former Grand Funk Railroad frontman Mark Farner. He’s 69. Other rockers celebrating include singer Taime Downe of Faster Pussycat (53), guitarist Alex Skolnick of Testament (49) and bassist Les Claypool of Primus (54).

Les Claypool spoke with Full Metal Jackie about the new Primus album, how the band fits or doesn't fit on various festivals, his SeaPop soda and more.

Les Claypool, lead singer and bassist of Primus turns 52 today, he is arguably the greatest bassist ever, and he shares his birthday with Jerry Lee Lewis.

Primus frontman Les Claypool is sad to report that his nephew Matthew has passed away after struggling with Infant's leukemia for the past two years. The bassist-singer brought Matthew's struggle to light last year when auctioning off one of his basses to raise funds to help offset his brother's family's mounting medical costs.

That's right guys, Primus is back for their 2011 tour!  They have a brand new album and are ready to rock the Palace Theater in Albany on September 27!
