One of the most well-known stars behind the original Scooby-Doo has tragically passed on. Reports confirm that Heather North, voice behind cartoon heroine Daphne Blake, died of a longtime illness at the age of 71.

We lost George Harrison of the Beatles on this day 16 years ago (Nov. 29, 2001).

It was a very sad day for rock n roll 26 years ago (Nov. 24, 1991) as we lost two beloved rockers: Queen’s Freddie Mercury and Kiss drummer Eric Carr.

Today (Oct. 27) we remember Lou Reed. The singer, guitarist, and main songwriter of the Velvet Underground died on this day 4 years ago (Oct. 27, 2013).

Every Eddie Murphy and Dave Chappelle fan will remember Charlie Murphy; edgier stand-up comedian and source of the famous “True Hollywood Stories” that launched Chappelle’s Show into the stratosphere. Sadly, Charlie Murphy is no longer with us, having passed away at age 57.

Terrible news to confirm today, as a beloved icon and Star Wars star’s condition has taken a turn for the worse. Carrie Fisher, actress behind both Princess and General Leia, has passed away at age 60. The revered actress and comedic presence had earlier suffered a heart attack en-route from London to Los Angeles.

As 2016 seems to be an unendingly cruel mistress, another beloved TV parent has left us behind. Alan Thicke, actor behind Growing Pains patriarch Jason Seaver has passed away at age 69. The acclaimed sitcom star had only days earlier made a surprise cameo in the second season of Netflix’s Fuller House.
