New Yorkers apparently spend so much money on this costly habit every year, they could have bought themselves a Porsche Boxster Spyder instead.

Governor Kathy Hochul's proposed ban on certain types of tobacco in New York State could prohibit the smoking of hookahs.

Today, WNYT News Channel 13 posted about the latest county considering moving the smoking age from 18 to 21.  That would be Saratoga County- according to WNYT a county that is ranked one of the healthiest, however also has pretty high rates for the state of New York of lung, lip, and oral cavity cancers...

According to timesunion.com, lawmakers will be raising the age to purchase tobacco in Albany County from 18 to 21.

The subject of raising the minimum smoking age to 21 isn't something new, many states have been tackling the issue including Vermont. The Green Mountain State recently sat down and voted on to raise or keep it at 18.

A major company is taking a significant stand against smoking and the move is being applauded by the president.

On May 31st, Crossgates Mall in Guilderland, NY is taking measures to clean up the entrances of their mall.  How?  By making it policy to not allow smokers to light up near the doors.

So a few Senators have decided to get involved where they don't belong and that's in professional sports.  The argument, banning chewing tobacco.  Should the government have a say in this?  No, but MLB should take a stand.
