Troy-Schenectady Road

One of my favorite chain restaurants in the Capital Region has permanently closed without warning. There was no indication that this location would close. I found out from a Facebook post from someone looking for lobster ravioli.

On July 19th, the New York Lottery Powerball jackpot was $1.08 billion. Although there was only one winner from California who got the billion, there was an Upstate New Yorker who cashed in too.

It was announced that the old Latham Kmart was getting a nearly twenty thousand square foot farm-to-table restaurant and construction has begun. Now there are more tenants that have been added to fill up the empty Kmart building.

It's nice to see that some of the larger vacant buildings are being repurposed instead of just laying empty and dormant. There is a no bigger eyesore in the Watervliet/Latham area than the old Kmart building at 195 Troy Schenectady Road.

It seems that Chick-fil-A is finally listening to the demand of the Capital Region. Last week it was announced that they are building their first location (outside of Albany International Airport) in Clifton Park. Now we have learned that they are planning a second location in Colonie.
