If you want more "Blood," AFI's got it ... and they're ready to leave it on stages across the U.S. and U.K. The veteran band, who issued their AFI (The Blood Album) back in January, have just announced a second stateside leg for "The Blood Tour," which will keep them on the road into the early parts of summer.

The new leg is a mix of headlining dates and festivals, with stops at the Bunbury, Firefly and Amnesia Rock festivals included during the run. In addition, the band has added an April appearance at the When We Were Young festival in Santa Ana, Calif., as well as some dates in the U.K. with Deftones and a Download Festival appearance in Derby in the U.K. that also falls within their currently scheduled dates.

AFI have seen solid returns for their latest album, as AFI (The Blood Album) debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart upon its arrival. The disc has been bolstered by the success of the songs "White Offerings," "Snow Cats" and "Aurelia," all of which were previewed ahead of the album release.

Guitarist Jade Puget, who co-produced the disc, told us he was interested in making sure it was a full album listening experience. "People are always talking about the album is something people can consume. They just want to hear songs and the album is going to go away. I don’t see it happening and even if it did happen, I don’t care. I would be the last band to still put out records — that journey, not only the actual experience of sitting down and listening to a record to a group of songs that were created at the same time for the same purpose. But also, just as a band, having this one cohesive snapshot of where you are in your career, where you are as far as your influences and what you’re into at that time, or what you want to be is super important for a band," said Puget. "To only put out single songs and maybe a couple of songs, I just feel it would dilute the message of the band. I can’t imagine doing that."
