
2025 Was a Record Year For Albany International Airport
Did you travel in 2025? I am sure that you likely took a trip or two in that time. If you happened to fly out of Albany International Airport it turns out that you are part of a new record that set last year.
The Times Union reports that in 2025 1.6 million passenger flew out of ALB, which breaks the previous record set in 2004 that was 1.5 million. People were certainly on the move and took advantage of Albany International being right here in out backyard to do so. Another thing to consider about Albany International is that many people from Vermont and Western Mass also utilize this as their main airport for travel.
Why the travel boom?
The Capital Region is in a state of growth and business travel is up on 2025 and can be attributed to a lot of those numbers. They also say that many folks are still in a post-pandemic mindset and not putting off their travel plans.
Albany International has also added a few new airlines and nonstop destinations over the last few years. Matt Hunter from ALB told the Times Union that travelers have more options now that makes travel a bit easier.

As someone who does travel often and really utilizes Albany International Airport they really do make things easy for travelers. I've never had a truly bad experience there, as things like weather are out of their control. Besides weather delays I think that Albany takes pride in making sure their passengers are taken care of. I think that is evident by how many people are now choosing to fly out of our Capital Region airport.
