Albany Italian Food Staple Closing After 100 Years
I would assume that just like me, you have to hate seeing businesses like these close. It seems to be happening a lot lately.
This is surely bittersweet news for so many people. Lombardo's Restaurant on Madison Avenue in Albany will be closing its doors after a century in business.
The restaurant over that time has been owned by two families according to the Times Union. One, of course, being the Lombardo family and for the last 27 years by the Mancino family.
Worth noting the owner of the restaurant passed away last summer. I could only assume that has a little bit to do with the closure of the esteemed eatery. Beyond that it seems the idea of a sale has been out there for quite some time.
What is your favorite dish to have at Lombardo's? If you want, you can still go. They will be open through the end of the year.
More info is at the link here from Times Union. It has all the info you need on holiday hours right up until the businesses final day.
