Albany Rock Shows: A Year In Review
We always in the Capital Region get a decent amount of awesome shows to attend throughout the year, however I think 2016 may have been the best one yet.
To start off 2016 everyone here at the Q and across the area were getting pumped because of Rock N Derby and that festival in my opinion was the best thing to ever hit upstate New York in the way of rock shows. I mean look at the laundry list of acts that were there.
- Five Finger Death Punch
- Sixx AM
- A Day To Remember
- All That Remains
- Pop Evil
But far deeper than Rock N Derby we had so many other awesome shows come our way. SPAC saw some pretty kick ass shows too.
- QRuption with Slipknot, Marilyn Manson and Of Mice and Men
- Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, Alter Bridge and Saint Asonia
- Blink 182 with A Day To Remember
Of course The Palace has to get some love too as in recent years we have been blessed by the acoustics of the shows there. 2016 was no different.
- Cage The Elephant
- Chris Cornell
- Dream Theater
- Rob Zombie
- Alice Cooper
- Three Doors Down with Pop Evil and Red Sun Rising
And of course the venue we all know and love Upstate Concert Hall,
- The Cult
- Hell Yeah with From Ashes To New (Coming again with In Flames this Friday)
- Eagles of Death Metal
- The Struts
- Ace Frehley
- Highly Suspect
A few Garage Sessions and Q Lounges too,
- From Ashes To New
- Sick Puppies
All those shows in not even a complete year. We still have a few bad ass shows to come like Asking Alexandria, In Flames with Hell Yeah and From Ashes To New, and Christmas Chaos with Sick Puppies, Trapt, Jim Breuer and The Loud and Rowdy and Citizen Zero.
What was your favorite show of 2016?
