Grab your quarters because there is a brand new arcade open here in the Capital Region!

One thing that I have always said is there is a lack of arcades in the Capital Region. When I was in high school over 20 years ago there was a decent one inside of Crossgates that was up by the food court. I still remember playing Soul Caliber II in that place as well as a few of the later Mortal Kombat games.

I guess with new gaming consoles like X-Box and Playstation it really made going to the arcade a thing of the past. I just miss that atmosphere so much.

I was thrilled when I saw an all new arcade was being put into Crossgates that wasn't attached to a restaurant or bowling alley. Now, The Arcade House officially looks to be open and ready to make our brains rot. That is what they used to say about playing too many video games, right?

I do think the vibe or the arcade has changed. They seem to be more like carnival style games with prize rewards than platform or fighting games. However there are still plenty of racing games to cause fights between you and your friends.

If the carpeting doesn't give you all that arcade nostalgia I don't know what will. That right there is a thing of beauty.

The Arcade House is located upstairs on the second level of Crossgates Mall across from Rack Room Shoes. Happy gaming, all!
