It's the beginning of yard sale season and it's kicking off with a huge village-wide yard sale in Altamont.

Last year residents wear gearing up for their annual yard sale and then the coronavirus pandemic hit and the village-wide yard sale was called off. It's the first time in its 30 year history that it had ever been canceled.

This year the Altamont Village-Wide Yard Sale is going to be bigger and better than even according to the Times Union article. This year more than 200 vendors will be set up all over Altamont with treasures for sale. Venders pay a $20 registration fee that goes to support the local elementary school PTA.

My wife is a huge yard sale fan, so you can count on us being in Altamont this weekend looking through everyone's treasures. My wife and I go out on a lot of Saturday mornings and hit local yard sales. In the fall, last year we had a great time at the Averill Park City-Wide yard sale we bought a bunch of great stuff for our house.

If you're looking for additional city-side yard sales a good resource is www.albany.com and the Greater Capital Region NY Online Garage Sales

As we keep getting more and more Capital Region residents vaccinated, businesses continue to get back to "normal" more and more city-wide yard sales and flea markets that were canceled last year and back on this year.
