After the shocking and tragic death of GWAR lead guitarist Cory “Flattus Maximus” Smoot, the metal world did was it does best — unite. A memorial benefit show has been put together in GWAR’s hometown of Richmond, Va. All proceeds from the benefit will be given directly to the Smoot family.

Posted on the official Black Sabbath website, the simple message showcases the classic purple Black Sabbath logo with “11-11-11″ beneath it. The message has created a unique buzz throughout the metal community – anxiously awaiting for next week’s Sabbath announcement.
