Beware, Someone Is Scamming Upstate Veterans

The Saratoga County Veterans Service Agency is warning of a new phone scam and this time it's targeted at our veterans. How despicable to cheat and steal from the men and woman that have served our country.

So, here's the scam. Someone calls up a veteran and they claim to be from the Veterans Services Department and they are calling to help with their VA benefits. Then they start asking for personal information that can be used for identity thief.

Caller ID states the caller is from Bolton Landing and displays the number 518-413-8843.

"The Saratoga County Veterans Service Agency is reminding veterans that the Department of Veterans Affairs, the New York State Division of Veterans Services and local county agencies will not call veterans and request sensitive information over the phone."
