Can The New York Rangers Win Their Series Over The Hurricanes?
I know I wrote about the New York Rangers yesterday but I just had to again today. Their improbable comeback over the Penguins is still resonating all over the Capital Region with the always passionate Ranger fans. They will have a tall task in beating a very talented Carolina Hurricane team who won their division in the Metropolitan Conference. I do like the Rangers chances to advance to the Eastern Conference finals, but it won't be easy. Here is my quick take on this from the Times Union:
Overcoming a 3-1 series deficit is no joke, and it says a lot about the Rangers’ moving into the second round of the playoffs. It’s a young Rangers team that grew up in a hurry, because playoff hockey is so much different than the regular season. New York cruised through the regular season, but winning in the postseason, especially beating a veteran Pittsburgh Penguins team is hard to do. And goaltender Igor Shesterkin regrouped after two poor performances in Games 3 and 4 in Pittsburgh, and he will need to stay on top of his game. Can the Rangers beat Carolina? They absolutely can, because it’s young team coming of age at just the right time. The Rangers have all the talent, but can they handle the pressure? They just proved they can.
MJ and I discussed the upcoming 2nd round matchup between the Rangers and Hurricanes earlier this morning on Big Board Sports. Below is our full conversation on this.
I can't wait for tomorrow night at 7 p.m. when the puck drops in Carolina. The Rangers impressed me in the first round and I hope that they can advance past the Hurricanes in this series.
