Who knew how passionate people were about a certain restaurant? We learned that all to well last week when Cracker Barrel announced that they were going to modernize their logo as well as the look and feel of their stores. It was not met with the enthusiasm that they thought it would be and push back on the internet immediately happened.

This ad posted about a week ago featuring country music artist Jordan Davis is when people first got a look at a new Cracker Barrel logo and what an updated look of the restaurants could look like.

Basically Cracker Barrel wanted to go with a more updated look. A sleek new logo design without any of the current personality of the old one and a redecorated restaurant that lost a bit of that country charm we were all accustomed to.

All of that news sent the public into an absolute uproar. A meltdown of epic proportions that eventually paid off. People literally got Cracker Barrel to decide not to change their logo after all. That doesn't mean that they might not still be updating their stores, but using their voice on the internet to demand something actually worked for the first time since getting Warner Bros to release the Snyder Cut of Justice League.

What if it was all just a clever marketing trick?

Conspiracy Theory

When was the last time you saw everyone talking about Cracker Barrel? The answer is never. But suddenly for a week you had everyone, including the President of the United States, weighing in on this.

What if Cracker Barrel wanted all of this? What if they never actually intended to change anything? It would be genius to get everyone to start talking about you and raising brand awareness. You had posts of every social platforms about this. Everyone was running out to Cracker Barrel before the big changes came to get one last look at the old country store. Honestly it's a great tactic to drum up some business in an economy where everything seems to be based on social media influence. They nailed it.

Obviously, this is just a conspiracy theory. I just wouldn't count anything out these days.

In the Capital Region we have two Cracker Barrel locations. One I was just recently at twice during the summer. Both remain unchanged as of right now. Those locations are in Clifton Park and East Greenbush.
