Downtown Albany Announces Movies Selection for Free Outdoor Summer Movie Series
These are the movies you can check out under the stars for FREE this summer in Downtown Albany!
Last month we told you that the Downtown Albany BID had teamed up with the Palace Theatre to bring back free outdoor movies to the city this summer. They also decided to combine what was formally known as the Deja View movie series with their Fork in the Road food truck series to create Bites, Camera, Action!
Bites, Camera, Action! will bring in music, vendors, and delicious food trucks from around the Capital Region to Albany's Tricentennial Park on Monday nights this summer. Where you can grab a bite to eat, enjoy some live music, and then watch a FREE movie under the stars and lights of the city. They actually allowed the public to vote on a list of films they wanted to see this summer and ... the polls have closed and the votes have been tallied! Here are the movies and music you can expect to see and hear on Monday nights in Albany from July 10tht through August 14th!
July 10: Back to the Future | Live music by The Graham Tichy Trio
July 17: Jurassic Park | Live music by Kimono Dragons
July 24: Harry Potter & The Sorcerer’s Stone | Live music by The Useless Cans
July 31: La La Land | Live music by Bryan Brundige & Crick Diefendorf
August 7: The Goonies | Live music by DJ Mercy
August 14: Star Wars: The Force Awakens | Live music by Victory Soul Orchestra
So far food trucks include Burger 21, Given to Fry, and The Hungry Traveler but they are still accepting applications for reatil and food vendors.
Food, music, and vendors run from 5pm - 8pm and the movies start at 8:30pm! See you this summer under the stars!
