Fair Season is Here in the Capital Region!
Fair Season is upon us here in the Capital Region. Two have already come and gone, the Saratoga Fair and The Punkintown Fair in Voorheesville. Did you miss those two as I did? No worries, plenty more fairs will come before the summer ends and into the fall season.
There is a fair scheduled for every weekend in August. Get out your calendar, and let's plan on going!
Schoharie County Sunshine Fair
From August 9 to 14, you can head to Sunshine Fair in Schoharie County. Fairgrounds are located on Sunshine Dr in Cobleskill. Expect all the usual attractions a fair will offer, rides, food, tractor pull, demolition derbies, and aquatic shows. Altamont Fair
The third week in August takes us to the Altamont Fairgrounds from August 16 to August 21. The fair includes rides, competitions, food, vendors, and music. The full schedule can be found on the Altamont Fair website.
Washington County Fair
Once you have finished at the Altamont Fair, head to the Washington County Fair, which runs from August 22 to August 28 in Greenwich, the fair includes entertainment, rides, shows, and vendors. The full schedule can be found on the Washington County Fairgrounds website.
Dutchess County Fair
Suppose you can't make the Washington County Fair, head to the Dutchess County Fair, which runs from August 23 through August 28. The fair is located in Rhinebeck and will have food, vendors, and entertainment, including a performance by Darci Lynne of "America's Got Talent." Columbia County Fair
Take a break for a few days; then it is off to The Columbia County Fair from August 31 to September 5. The fair includes demolition derbies, rides, live music, food, and tractor pulls. The entire event schedule can be found on the Columbia County Fair website.
Schaghticoke Fair
Can't make it to the Columbia Country Fair? You can always go to The Schaghticoke Fair from August 31 to September 5. The fair includes horse shows, rides, and country artists Tracy Bryd and Ernest's performances.
Fonda Fair
The Fonda Fair is also from August 31 to September 5 and includes rides, food, and shows; The full event schedule can be found on the Fonda Fair website.
