The Warrensburg-Thurman Historical Society has an exhibit named 'Famous Footsteps' celebrating famous visitors to the Adirondacks. Visit the society at 3754 Main Street in Warrensburg to see authentic artifacts connected to iconic guests such as Marilyn Monroe, Johnny Cash, George Jones, and others.

The exhibit will be open Saturday June 13th, from 12 Noon - 2pm, at the Warrensburg-Thurman Historical Society.

Marilyn Monroe visited Warrensburg in June of 1949 as part of a 'Dream House' promotional campaign for her latest movie 'Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House'. Local resident Virginia McAllister won a fully equipped home on a lot in Warrensburg.

Marilyn Monroe was on hand to award the prize and, according to Warrensburg Historical Society, Monroe stayed at the Colonial Arms Hotel on Main Street. You can see the prize home, still standing on James Street.
