The Amazon Prime series is once again shutting down streets in the Capital Region to film scenes for the second season of their hit show Modern Love. The show has filmed in Troy, Schenectady, and most recently in Washington Park.

Albany Police issued a statement warning residents of closed streets for film production today, Wednesday, October 14th.

The Albany Police Department says crews will close the following roads between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.:

  • Grand Street, between Madison Avenue and Myrtle Avenue
  • Wilbur Street, between Phillip Street and Grand Street
  • Elm Street, between Phillip Street and Grand Street
  • Phillip Street, between Elm Street and Myrtle Avenue

In case of rain, the road closures will happen at the same time on Thursday, October 15.

Modern Love is based on the successful new column by the same name and starred Anne Hathaway, Tina Fey, Andy Garcia, and Dev Patel. There's no word on who will star in the second season and so far no big celebrities have been seen in town for filming....yet.

Christy Smith, from East Nassau, NY sent me these pictures from filming in other locations around the Capital Region. Her son took the photos.

MODERN LOVE FILMING IN THE CAPITAL REGION

According to New 10, Deborah Goedeke from the Albany Film Commission, says the reason film production is using the Capital Region so much is because of the lower population density during the pandemic and areas serve as a perfect stand-in for New York City.

So be on the lookout for celebrity sightings in the Capital Region as more filming is expected from Moden Love.
