Filming ‘The Gilded Age’ Brings Fresh Paint and Road Closures In Troy
The Capital Region continues to be the hotspot for big TV and movie productions. Owen Wilson has been seen around town in North Greenbush and Saratoga. Woody Harrelson will be in the area soon filming "The Whitehouse Plumbers" a new series on HBO and of course Troy is getting ready to be featured as the 1880s backdrop to HBO's "The Gilded Age".
Filming is rumored to start in late May and run through June in several locations around Troy. The Production crew from HeyDey Productions LLC has already started prepping buildings and the streets around Troy for the film shoot. They have been repainting and rebranding storefronts to match the 1880s time period and have removed a bunch of the modern street lamps that wouldn't be period correct. Check out the pictures below for some of the "restoration" of the Troy streets that will be used by "The Gilded Age"
If you want to do some star gazing you might catch some of the stars wandering around Troy after Memorial Day Weekend. "The Gilded Age" will star Christine Baranski, Cynthia Nixon, Carrie Coon, Morgan Spector, and Jeanne Tripplehorn just to name a few.
Production of "The Gilded Age" will shut down streets in Troy for a few days. Currently, HeyDay Productions LLC has put out a notice that these roads will be closed from May 27th through June 10th.

By the way, if you want to get even closer to the filming action, you could try out to be an extra. As of last week, they were still looking for background extras. For more information on how you can be an extra check out Grant Wilfey Casting.
