GWAR Returning The the Capital Region in 2026
Just when you thought it was safe to go to Empire Live the might GWAR has announced their triumphant return to the Capital Region with a 2026 stop in Albany at Empire Live.
The band officially announced their touring plans for next year, which begins in March, on Monday afternoon. Their first stop will be in their hometown of Richmond, VA on March 19th before making their way to Albany on March 21, 2026.
This will be GWAR's first time back in Albany since their 2024 show at Empire Live. They seem to be on a pretty consistent schedule for visiting the Capital Region with having a show at the same venue in 2022. 2026 keeps them right on pace for their predicted visits to our area.

This tour will see them with support from Soulfly and King Parrot. I am particularly excited to see Soulfly because Max Cavalera is a heavy metal legend having previously fronted Sepultura until 1996.
Who is GWAR?
GWAR has been around since 1984 with a rotating group of musicians donning the iconic costumes that fans know and love. Their shows are a mix of science fiction, comic books, hard rock, and the most perverted jokes on the planet. It is a spectacle to behold if you've never had the chance to see it, I recommend going at least once.
The tickets for the entire Gor Gor Strikes Back tour go on sale this Friday. You can get to all ticket information on the official GWAR website.
