July Heat Continues For Upstate New York

It is summer and it is going to be hot at times. Much like we have to endure the winter, we also have to put up with hot and humid temperatures in the summer. Thankfully there are easier ways to cool off than have to warm up. It looks like that heat continues this week as a heat advisory has officially been issued for the Capital Region starting on Tuesday morning, and going through Tuesday evening.

It looks like this current advisory is not as bad as the last one we had to endure over the Fourth of July holiday, and it won't be affecting the entire Capital Region. It does look like the heat index will hit about 102 for Albany. I would suggest some extra water.

From the National Weather Service:

Heat Advisories in effect for valley areas as well as the central and southern Taconics. The NWS experiemental HeatRisk is in the Moderate to Major categories Tuesday.

It will be hot this week but the peak temps will hit us on Tuesday. It looks like we're looking at some chances for rain following the heat later in the week heading into this weekend.

South of the Capital Region will feel the heat a bit more and for a longer period of time.

This is also a good time remind you all that during a heat advisory you should limit your time outside as well as the time that pets spend outside, too.
