Camping isn't your thing but you love the outdoors? What if you could camp with king size beds, private bathrooms, flat-screen TV's? Sounding better? Maybe you'll like "glamping." And, how about if it is all less than an hour from the Capital Region?

Well, all of this fun and adventure is coming to the Catskills, which according to Brian Hubert of dailyfreeman.com, is becoming an area that features a few "glamping" options. Autocamp is a high end campground company that has properties, among others in Yosemite National Park and Cape Cod. Their newest venture is conveniently coming close to the Capital Region, just south on State Route 212 in Centerville, New York.

According to the webstite, Autocamp Catskills plans to open later this year on the site of a former KOA Kampgrounds of America location on state Route 212 in Centerville. The facility will offer a range of accommodations with “luxury tents” and Airstream trailers available on a nightly basis for some pretty hefty prices.

The reservation website, which is beginning to take reservations in September of 2022, features a "luxury tent" for $199 per night, and it comes with "a king-size bed with Tempur-Pedic mattress, electric blankets, heater, mini-fridge, kettle, coat rack, and full-length mirror, all in a spacious canvas tent with protective netting."

Now you don't have to bring any cookware or utensils for your barbeque but if you want to go to the bathroom or shower, you'll have to head to the nearby Clubhouse, which "offers spa-inspired restrooms and showers, stocked with Ursa Major organic bath products." However, for $199 a night, a bathroom would be nice but the rest sounds awesome!

So, if you want your own shower and bathroom, why night a weekend in a Premium Airstream Suite? For a cool $349 per night their reservation site says you get a "31-foot custom-designed Premium Airstreams are located toward the rear of the property. Your private bedroom features a queen-size Tempur-Pedic mattress, plush linens, and flat-screen TV. The spa-inspired bathroom boasts a roomy walk-in shower and Ursa Major organic bath products. Your galley sofa folds out into a double bed – great for one or two small children, or one additional adult. Enjoy your own private outdoor fire pit (complete with a barbecue grill) and dining area right beside your Airstream. All tableware, cookware, and BBQ utensils are provided. Your kitchen also comes with a sink, microwave, and mini-fridge."

I have to admit that is pretty cool. According to dailyfreeman.com, AutoCamp Catskills said it will offer yoga and guided meditation classes, movie nights, fireside chats, and live acoustic music. There will also be a pool and hot tub. It definitely seems like something that would be fun to check out and best of all, it is close to the Capital Region.
