It's been a rough past few days for Buffalo Bills fans.

The team was eliminated from the playoffs on Sunday night, after the crushing 27-24 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs at Highmark Stadium. It was the third straight season that the Bills lost in the AFC Divisional round.

Now, the off-season has arrived and with it, extremely difficult decisions to be made by general manager Brandon Beane.

The Bills are projected to be $40 million over the cap and have many pending free agents. Those include Micah Hyde, DaQuan Jones, Leonard Floyd, Tim Settle, Leonard Floyd, Jordan Phillips, Dane Jackson, Tyler Matakevich, Taylor Rapp, Tyrel Dodson and Gabe Davis.

In terms of Hyde, there is speculation that he will retire. He said at locker cleanout day that he would spend some time talking to his family and weigh a decision. On Tuesday, Brandon Beane said if Hyde doesn't retire, that they would try and re-sign him but sounded as if there were no guarantees.

Now, Hyde's wife has taken to social media to post a "thank you" message to Western New York.

Amanda Hyde said that her and Micah didn't know anything about Buffalo or Bills Mafia before 2017 but that this community has won their hearts and that they mean so much to their family.

This isn't a retirement announcement but it sounds as if they already know this will be it for Hyde in Buffalo and perhaps his NFL career.

Hyde was brought in with Jordan Poyer in March of 2017, as the first two free agent moves made by then newly-named head coach, Sean McDermott. Both became starters and have been since.

Hyde spent the first four years of his career in Green Bay as safety and punt returner. He was signed in 2017 and became a star in Buffalo.

Hyde and Poyer are two of the best free agent signings in Buffalo sports history. They were huge for this defense, team and community.

Poyer has one year left on his contract and the Bills would save $5 million in cap space by releasing him. It's possible both Hyde and Poyer leave in 2024.
