On Monday, July 24, 2023, a bizarre report surfaced stating that Buffalo Bills' utility player Nyheim Hines had suffered a season-ending injury.

Considering that all NFL teams were only in training camp at this point in the summer, this was extremely concerning news. Come to find out, the freak injury had occurred due to a Jet Ski accident, and had nothing to do with football. We also learned that Hines had been following the rules while aboard his Jet Ski; it was another person who caused his injury.

We're just over one month removed from the accident, and now, Nyheim Hines is pursuing legal action against the person who cost him his season with the Buffalo Bills.

Bills' RB/WR Nyheim Hines Pursuing Legal Action After Jet Ski Accident

A report from CBS Sports and other outlets shared the news that Buffalo Bills' running back and kick returner Nyheim Hines has hired an attorney, and is preparing to pursue legal action against the party who caused the Jet Ski accident in which he was involved.

Hines' attorney released the following statement:

Hines suffered multiple "non-life threatening injuries" as a result of the accident, including a torn ACL, which led to him being ruled out for the entire 2023 NFL season. The long-time Indianapolis Colt had just signed a two-year contract with $9 million, and was set to begin his first full season as a member of the Buffalo Bills.

Now, his future with the Bills, and in the NFL as a whole, hangs in the balance, and his attorneys are trying to recoup any losses that he'll face as a result of this injury.

The Bills, meanwhile, have had to find replacements for Hines in multiple areas of their depth chart. Wide receivers Deonte Harty and Khalil Shakir will assume the punt and kick return duties with Hines on the shelf, while running backs Damien Harris and Latavius Murray will serve as back-ups to starter, James Cook.

We wish Nyheim Hines a speedy recovery, and a successful pursuit of legal justice.
