Week 13 is Here, and ‘Intern Mike’ Has His NFL ‘Locks of the Week’ Ready!
Intern Mike’s Season Record: 32-26-2 .552 W/L %
Miami Dolphins @ Washington Commanders, 1:00, FOX
This Washington team is in complete disarray.
While they’ve seen some flashes from second year QB Sam Howell, there has been almost nothing positive from the other side of the ball. Washington ranks last in the league in scoring defense, and now gets a Miami team who is chomping at the bit to get Tyreek Hill and this pass game ramped up moving into the month of December.
Washington is yet to cover a spread in five games at home this season, a trend that will continue this Sunday.
PICK: Dolphins -9.5
Los Angeles Chargers @ New England Patriots, 1:00, CBS
Two teams here that are not very fun to bet on.
The Chargers have been underachieving expectations for three years with this Justin Herbert led team, and this year is no different. The Pats on the other hand, have been an unmitigated disaster this season.
With the carousel at quarterback landing on Bailey Zappe this weekend. Brandon Staley is coaching for his job, and the Patriots team punted on the season a long time ago. Pats don’t keep up with a still dangerous LA offense.
PICK: Chargers -5.5
Cleveland Browns @ Los Angeles Rams, 4:25, FOX
The Browns have been through more adversity than almost any team in the NFL this season.
You name an important player for this Browns team, and the odds are at some point or another, they’ve been injured. This week, Cleveland will be rolling out Joe Flacco as their starter on the road. Flacco has won just three of his last twenty starts, and now gets a date with Aaron Donald and a Rams defense that’s gone back to back weeks allowing less than 17 points.
Stafford and the Rams keep it rolling in this spot.
PICK: Rams -3.5
San Francisco 49ers @ Philadelphia Eagles, 4:25, FOX
We’re now more than ten months removed from the Eagles 31-7 victory over the 49ers in the NFC Championship game.
The excitement for this one is palpable, as many think the Niners didn’t get a true chance last time out with Brock Purdy leaving the game early with an elbow injury. Purdy spent the offseason rehabbing and it’s safe to say that this one was circled on his calendar.
Philadelphia comes into this one out of arguably the game of the season, getting a thrilling OT win against the Bills. San Fran is the healthier team in this one, getting ten days of rest after their Thanksgiving victory. Despite being on the road, San Francisco appears to be in a better spot to win this football game, with the wise guys in Vegas agreeing.
PICK: 49ers -2.5
Cincinnati Bengals @ Jacksonville Jaguars, 8:15 (MNF), ESPN
The Bengals have certainly been feeling the effects of life without Joe Burrow.
They’re losers of three straight and now travel to take on a Jaguars team who are winners of seven of their last eight. In their last eight without Burrow, Cincy is averaging just 15 points of offense per game. Jacksonville has been playing cleaner football than anyone this season, and aside from the ugly loss to San Fran, they look like one of the AFC’s top contenders heading into the final month of the campaign.
Lawrence and the Jags roll this Cincy team who has seemingly packed this season in.
PICK: Jaguars -8.5
