New Fort Fright Haunted Experience Coming to Lake George

Things are about to get seriously spooky at one of Lake George’s most historic places.

Fort William Henry is introducing Fort Fright, a new immersive haunted experience that will take visitors through the shadowy rooms and passageways of the famous fort.

Guests will be exploring a place with nearly three hundred years of real history, legends, and the dark stories behind it.

History of Fort William Henry

Fort William Henry was originally built in 1755 during the French and Indian War. It endured a brutal siege just two years later, and the violent events surrounding the fort helped inspire “The Last of the Mohicans.”

That history will provide the backdrop for Fort Fright.

Inside, familiar areas of the fort will be completely transformed with ominous lighting, thick fog, creepy sounds and live scare actors waiting around unexpected corners. The experience will use the fort’s real stories and surroundings to make the scares feel even more real.

What Else Is In Store?

For those curious about what might actually be haunting the property, mini paranormal investigations will be available throughout the evening. They can be added to the Fort Fright experience or enjoyed separately.

The courtyard will open around 5:30 p.m. each night, giving everyone a place to gather before or after entering the fort. Seasonal treats and drinks will be available for purchase, including warm cider, donuts, and s’mores.

The courtyard is also open to anyone who wants the fall atmosphere without going through the haunted attraction.
