Legendary Irish bar/restaurant, Pinhead Susan's suddenly closed in April because the owners were behind in rent and taxes. No one knew what the fate of this well-known downtown Schenectady establishment would become. Now we do.

Who Is Taking Over Pinhead Susan's?

Timothy Rankins who is no stranger to the Capital Region restaurant scene is the new owner. Rankins started his career with Bogies on Ontario Street. He also owned Pearl Restaurant & Lounge in downtown Albany along with Envy Lounge. His latest venture is Cage Wars that holds martial arts events throughout the country including locally according to the Daily Gazette.

What Is Replacing Pinhead Susan's?

It will be a new restaurant called Vice & Virtue. It will offer "American-style cuisine". They will offer steak, seafood, dry-aged meats along with bold and fresh ingredients.

Rankins Has Already Made Some Major Renovations

The floors have been renovated along with the walls and ceiling. The bar also has been redone with a new granite top. There will be a different look inside as well. Rankins is adding a back bar and opening up the space with a garage door. This will lead into a new patio area with seating. It will also allow an area for meats to be smoked. There will be room for over one hundred patrons.

Vice & Virtue is planning to open for service on September 15th. It will be open Tuesday through Sunday for lunch from 11 am until 2 pm and dinner service will be from 4 pm until 11 pm.
