New Capital Region Chipotle Opens Monday & Why Its Different From The Rest

The Capital Region's newest Chipotle will open its doors Monday, and this one will feature something different!

As far as the menu goes, this new restaurant will be everything you expect from Chipotle Mexican Grill, Great burritos and burrito bowls, fresh ingredients, awesome salsa, and crunch tortilla tips. But outside of the menu, you may notice something VERY different.

New Capital Region Chipotle To Feature A Drive-Thru

Now I know it is not un heard of, but I have never seen a Chipotle with a drive-thru lane. Believe it or not, 30% of Chipotle locations have a drive-thru lane according to Advancing Convenience & Fuel Retailing.

My typical Chipotle stops are all in strip malls in Clifton Park, Niskayuna, and Stuyvesant Plaza - so there is no drive-thru. Regardless, I have never seen a Chipotle offer drive up service! But there is a small catch,

So where is this new unicorn of a Chipotle and what's the drive-thru catch?

The new eatery is located 1707 Central Avenue in Colonie and according to the Times Union they open for business this Monday, March 17th. They will be open daily 10:45 am to 10 pm.

The catch? While this restaurant will have a drive-thru, the Times Union says it will be for pick up of orders place online. So make sure you order online of on the Chiptiple app before driving thru!
