Johnny Rockets announced it was permanently closing its location outside of Six Flags Great Escape Lodge in January and promised new and exciting plans for the space. We now know which restaurant will be moving in.

Johnny Rockets moved into the Great Escape Indoor Lodge space in 2008. At the time it took over for Trappers Adirondack Grille. Johnny Rockets operated this location for fifteen years until it closed down in 2023.

What Restaurant Is Replacing Johnny Rockets?

A chain restaurant called Hurricane Grill & Wings will be moving into the Johnny Rockets space. The actual restaurant will be knocked down to rebuild the new one.

According to The Sun, Rebecca Wood, President of Six Flags Great Escape Resort, said,

What Is Hurricane Grill & Wings?

There are a few locations downstate in Newburgh and Poughkeepsie but this is the first Hurricane Grill & Wings in Upstate New York. They serve over thirty-five signature wing sauces with jumbo and fresh chicken wings. They have other delicious menu items too.
