“As Trump and Washington Republicans keep driving up the cost of gas and utilities, I’m focused on helping New Yorkers keep more money in their pockets,” Governor Hochul said.

Checks started getting mailed out on Sept. 21 and will continue through the end of December.

  • Were a full-time resident of New York State for Tax Year 2024.
  • Reported income within the qualifying thresholds; and

“Our energy rebate checks are just one of many ways we’re helping families address rising costs – along with our ratepayer protection plan, enrolling more New Yorkers in utility bill discount programs, expanding access to affordable childcare, expanding the child tax credit, delivering middle-class tax cuts, and more," Hochul added.
