Jeff Coffin of the Dave Matthews Band performed a free show last night with student musicians from Shenendehowa.

Shenendehowa Jazz celebrated their 22nd Annual Shenendehowa Jazz Festival on Thursday April 23rd by featuring talented student musicians performing with Grammy Award-winning saxophonist, Jeff Coffin of the Dave Matthews Band!

Jeff Coffin joined the Dave Matthews Band (DMB) in 2009 following the tragic death of founding saxophonist LeRoi Moore. In addition to his time with DMB, Coffin earned international acclaim for his work with band Béla Fleck & the Flecktones.

In addition to his work as a performer, Coffin is deeply committed to music education. He has been teaching at the prestigious Vanderbilt University since 2015 and has also presented well over 400 workshops and clinics around the globe. Last night Jeff was in Clifton Park for the Shen Jazz Festival.

Based on the concert program, some of the numbers performed last night included the Bela Fleck song Stomping Grounds, Lock It In the Pocket by Steve Shanley, Ants In the Pants by George Vincent, Chameleon by Herbie Hancock, Oye Como Va by Tito Puente to name a few.

Jeff Coffin's new album When Now was released earlier this month. The Dave Matthews Band is scheduled to perform at Albany Med Health System at SPAC in Saratoga Springs, NY on Friday July 17th and Saturday July 18th. Check ticket availability HERE.
