Today is the day that Montgomery County will get its first brewery. Eisenadler Brauhaus will be officially opened to the public today (Friday, August 13th). A grand opening celebration is planned for some time in the fall according to News 10 ABC.

The hope is that someday The Eisenadler Brauhaus in the Village of Nelliston in Montgomery County will be a tourist destination. Co-owner Jodie Rodriquez said of the project:

One of our goals is to bring tourism to the area, while also providing a new attraction for our local residents. It’s been great working with the county and the Business Development Center. We first met with Director Ken Rose and his team, three years ago, with an idea and a dream to create this brewery, and with Eisenadler Brauhaus opening, it’s now become a reality.

Eisenadler Brauhaus is located on Route 5 and is the first brewery to open in all of Montgomery County. They make hand-crafted microbrews and they specialize in Bavarian-style beer. They will brew beer on-site and will be selling it to retailers and wholesalers. There is a location at 88 Main Street in the Village of Nelliston where their beer will be sold and tastings will be held.

County Executive Matthew Ossenfort said that this is a great business for the area adding:

Microbreweries have become key economic drivers and provide employment opportunities, in addition to being attractions and tourist destinations. We’ve seen across the state that local craft breweries tend to provide a positive ripple effect to the local economy and it’s great to see that beginning here at home.

Cheers to Eisenadler Brauhaus and maybe this is just the first of many breweries that pop up in Montgomery County.
