Mr. Big Set To Tour America For First Time In 15 Years [VIDEO]
Oh yeah, it’s the original line up too. I remember seeing Mr. Big at the Paradise in Boston when they first came out.
I loved it! They were so talented, but seemed to have a bit of down home feeling which can be hard to find when you’re dealing with some incredible talent like Billy Sheehan and Paul Gilbert. (Not that these guys are famous for big heads, but sometimes big talent equals big egos.) I think singer Eric Martin was key to the cozy vibe the band put off that night. He was a great front man who certainly wasn’t trying to outshine the musical superstars of the band, but yet had the perfect interaction with the audience that made him seem so real and the kind of guy you’d like to have a couple beers with.
I also distinctly remember this show because it was the first time I learned a neat little trick for underage drinking in a club. A friend of mine who was over 21 broke his bracelet off and then we simply used a little chewed gum to glue it back together on my wrist. Yeahguy! Needless to say, that the next round was on me. And thanks again Pierre.
Blabbermouth.com has cool interview with Billy Sheehan of how the band got back together.
